5 Minute Makeover

Yikes! Your alarm never went off this morning and you only have 5 minutes to get ready! Normally you spend close to an hour primping for work or school and now you only have a small window of time to get yourself together. No worries, this is what the five minute makeover is all about. Each step is designed to take up to one minute. Set your stopwatch and get ready to wow everyone.

Minute 1: Hair

Product Needed: Dry Shampoo

Give your hair a boost with a generous helping of dry shampoo. Hold the can about three inches away from your head and begin to spray on the scalp and roots. Allow the shampoo to sit for about three minutes while getting to work on the next steps. Afterwards begin to work the spray through your roots and along the shaft of your hair until the shampoo is no longer visible. The shampoo will not only refresh and revive your hair, it will also give extra volume. Tease your hair a little in in the back and gently sweep the sides of your hair into a half updo, secure with two bobby pins.

Minute 2: Conceal

Product Needed: Concealer

You won’t have time to do your full foundation routine so make sure to cover all of your problem areas with concealer. Dab concealer directly onto the area and blend out with a small concealer brush. Take some extra concealer under your eyes to cover up any dark circles or bags.

Minute 3: Blush

Product Needed: Blush.

This step hardly takes a minute but does wonders for your sleepy face. It instantly brightens your complexion and polishes your appearance. Choose a pink toned blush and sweep it along the apples of your cheeks and towards the hairline.

Minute 4: Eyes

Product Needed: Mascara and white pearl eyeshadow

Generously coat your eyelashes in mascara to widen your eyes. Next, apply a small dab of pearly white eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyelids. It will brighten your eyes and give the illusion that you are awake.

Minute 5: Lips

Product Needed: Lip Stain

Since the rest of your face is pretty simple, you can make your lips the focal point. A pink or bold red is perfect for an occasion like this and can be achieved with a lip stain and a bit of lip balm.

Take one last glance in the mirror and you’re ready to take on the day.
