Meet The Brand:

Who is Koh Gen Do?

Koh Gen Do, a company started in Tokyo, is  known for their innovative products and breakthrough formulas. Created in 1986, Koh Gen Do began with the Oriental Basic Skincare line. Their story begins with an actress and her extremely sensitive skin. Long hours on set shooting movies and TV shows under the glare of stage lights aggravated her skin. She longed for makeup that protected her skin from these harsh conditions. This is how Koh Gen Do was born. Koh Gen Do began developing makeup without petroleum-based products and synthetic colors or fragrances. They used only natural ingredients derived from Chinese and Japanese herbs. Actresses caught on to this new secret and the company’s reputation spread.

What makes Koh Gen Do unique?

Koh Gen Do’s products are not tested on animals and do not contain chemicals whose safety cannot be determined. The brand employs the In Vitro safety testing method. It is used worldwide as a scientifically reliable method to test the safety of their products. Koh Gen Do uses plant extracts and other ingredients from nature to create quality cosmetics products. They respect skin and do not use any artificial fragrances, petroleum-based mineral oil or synthetic pigments.
