I usually use oil cleansers as my first cleanse and cleansing balms are new to me. This did clean my skin, but since I'm new to balms, I wasn't sure how much of this to use. I ended up using about a pea sized amount and it seemed to be enough for my light makeup. Maybe I would need to use more if I were wearing heavier makeup? In any case, it did remove makeup and left my skin soft with an every so slight film that washed off easily with my water cleanse.
