After being diagnosed with Rosacea Type 2, Phoebe realized most skincare brands at the time don’t help with prevention and retention of moderate to severe skincare concerns.

Also, many skincare brands don’t consider the environment, which was Phoebe’s first priority and a part of her inspiration for her logo.Passionate about the environment, Song wants to minimize the waste cycle the beauty industry participates in. Artic foxes, like the one in the portrait that inspired her logo, are fragile and fading but are still beautiful. Protecting the environment is one of the many reasons that Snow Fox’s packaging is recyclable and their skincare line simple.According to Phoebe, the popularity of big multi-step regimens has brought the industry to an age of product overuse. “You don’t need all those steps if you have a concentrated selection of products that work,” says Phoebe.  “With Snowfox, every formula we create is to solve skin problems first, and have the goal being that we created a solution. That’s why our sheet masks are packed with ingredients like Blue Eygptian Lotus and Japanese Cherry Blossom.”

An expert on sheet masks, Phoebe taught a masterclass about sheet masks this year. A sheet mask is supposed to be an intensive treatment step, like an application amplifier. But, she advises that you also have a look at the material of the mask as well. “Our sheet masks are bleach-free and 100% cotton, which isn’t common in the beauty industry,” explains Phoebe. “Cotton, like your teeth, isn’t meant to be pure-white. If your sheet mask is white, there was a bleaching process in creating the mask to get it to that process. And then it’s being applied to your skin!”In Asia, colorisim (a form of discrimination based on skin color, with preference towards light skin) runs rampant in the beauty industry, so most consumers don’t mind the implications of bleach in their products that aren’t designed for bleaching your skin. However, as a national and global issue this only solidifies the idea that light skin is better, and on an underlying level, that unhealthy means to gain it are acceptable. That’s not what Snow Fox is about. “We’re not another trendy ‘K-Beauty’ brand, we’re here to provide the best skincare solutions for sensitive skin, and for skin concerns of many types without harming the environment.”We love Phoebe’s mission, and look forward to the rise in ethical skincare brands like Snow Fox!
